Mission Impossible: Fixing The Unfixable
One of the most famous plastic surgeons in Miami Beach came to us with a destroyed $250,000 Audemars Piguet ultra-complicated watch. Because of water damage, it was a solid block of rust. The client was wearing it when he was swimming in his Jacuzzi. He sent his watch to Audemars Piguet in Switzerland for an estimate, and was quoted $125,000 for the repair—and it would take a year to fix. A friend referred him to Gray & Sons Jewelers. Our master watchmaker knows complicated watch repairs. He polished every wheel and every pivot and replaced practically every part.

We handmade some of the gears to factory specifications. Part by part, screw by screw, we refurbished the watch with hundreds of pieces and then went through the painstaking process of reassembling and refitting it all together. In the end, the client got his watch back in three months, not a year. And he got his watch back running perfectly the first time. It was water resistant and back to factory original specs for one-tenth of the original quoted price. And we got a customer for life.
Strap Up: Upgrading Your Style
A great way to spruce up your timepiece is with a new leather strap. We buy authentic straps from brand name companies, and have a large selection from the most famous designers. We also sell generic crocodile, alligator and lizard straps. Since many of these watch companies do not make their own straps, they subcontract to leatheries to make fine straps for them. These same leatheries make straps without the designer name. The quality, look, color, vibrancy and stitching are all first quality. And why not spend $100 on a strap instead of $400?
Home Alone: Protecting Your Watch
At home, one of the most common problems that happens with a mechanical watch is that people are winding and setting it on their wrist. By doing this, you end up bending the stem and breaking the crown off the watch. When that happens, you have a repair that can cost from $100 to $1,000. You have to replace the stem or crown, or both. Always wind and set your watch over a table, not the floor. If you wind and set the watch over a granite floor, the watch can fall and you will break the crystal. The sheer vibration of hitting the floor will have broken some gears or axles. It will be an expensive repair.
