Dwyane Wade has been a part of Hublot’s family of ambassadors since 2011. In fact, the Classic Fusion is not the first watch made in honor of the basketball star–that would be the King Power “D-Wade.” Yet, the Hublot Classic Fusion Dwyane Wade (525.CS.0138.LR.DWD14) is markedly different from the King Power edition.

While Hublot watches are known for their brash and bold looks, the Classic Fusion is the brand’s lineup of slightly more understated watches. However, as this is Hublot we’re talking about, so “understated” is a relative. For instance, Dwyane Wade’s Classic Fusion watch sports a case that measures a generous 45 mm and is fashioned from polished black ceramic. The matching black ceramic bezel is punctuated with six exposed screws in “King Gold” (Hublot’s 18k red gold alloy), while the duo of chronograph pushers also have bands of gold around them.

The Hublot Classic Fusion Dwyane Wade houses a sapphire crystal dial for a view of the automatic movement inside the watch. On the sapphire surface, we see two red gold counters, red gold hour markers, red gold hands, and Dwyane Wade’s signature right above the date window at 6 o’clock. There are red accents on the dial, such as the minute track, for added sportiness.

Carrying on the black and red theme is the black rubber and alligator with red stitching. Plus, there’s also the black PVD stainless steel deployant clasp for security. The Hublot Classic Fusion Dwyane Wade runs on the HUB1155 automatic chronograph movement with 42 hours of power reserve. Turn the watch around and you will see some of the inner workings of the mechanics as well as the watch’s unique number out of a limited 250-unit production run.
