Watch of the Month: Jean Dunand Tourbillon Orbital
Jean Dunand Tourbillon Orbital
Jean Dunand is a Swiss manufacturer of unique timepieces founded in 2003 by Christophe Claret. It is a watchmaking house that aims to produce pieces of mechanical art with a touch of art decoas well. Today, we have the Jean Dunand Tourbillon Orbital – a timepiece with a tourbillon that orbits the dial once per hour. Because of it’s unique looks and stunning wrist presence, we’ve chosen it for our latest watch of the month feature. Now, let’s take a closer look.
Case & Dial
The Jean Dunand Tourbillon Orbital features a 44mm case made entirely out of platinum. It’s the perfect starting point for one of the watch’s most distinguishing features – a beautiful enamel dragon dial. Other impressive design touches include diamond hour markers and a power reserve indicator on the side of the case. Furthermore, you can find a moonphase indicator on the case back. The “pop” you get out of the enamel dial finish is unlike anything you’ve ever seen before.
Box & Papers
Also, this specific example comes with the original box and set of corresponding manufacture documents. This is simply spectacular, considering how limited and rare Jean Dunand pieces are in general and “in the wild.” It is a unique piece through and through and it’s exciting to have something this special in our stock.
Movement & Oribital Tourbillon
This is a movement produced entirely by Christophe Claret. The tourbillon is orbital, which means that it makes a full revolution around the dial every hour. When paired with the simple time-only dial layout, this results in a stunning look that simply can’t be found in other timepieces.
Strap & Wearability
The Jean Dunand Tourbillon Orbital is very wearable thanks to its 44mm case size. It comes on a black leather strap with a matching platinum tang buckle. With its comforting and pliable design, it allows the watch to sit closer to the wrist for a compact and stylish fit.
Like all of our other watches, this Jean Dunand Tourbillon Orbital is inspected by our certified in-house Swiss-trained watchmakers before shipment and comes backed by our 12-month warranty. When you consider the elegance and unique features like the case back moonphase complication and power reserve indicator, this presents itself as one of the most special watches available from any manufacturer.
